Total Paint Care is a Paint Protection system with a built in polish and cleaner. It can be used as a preparation-free paint protection, a non-abrasive polish to remove contaminants without the risk of removing paint, and a complete waterless wash.
I have heard about waterless car washes before, what's the difference between a typical waterless car wash & total paint care?
Total Paint Care differs quite substantially to standard waterless car washes. Total Paint Care is completely environmentally friendly. Using natural Carnauba wax, one of the worlds' hardest waxes as part of its protection system and natural Kaolin clay as the non-abrasive polish component. Total Paint Care has the advantage of being used as a bone-fide polish but will not actually remove any paint, making it ideal for risk free polishing of edges and of paint with suspect thickness or high value.
How much product do I need to use on my car?
An average small-medium sized car (such as a Nissan Pulsar) will use around 50ml of product to completely treat the entire paint surface. Larger cars will require more of the product respectively. Depending on the level of soiling, more of the product may need to be used. Extremely dirty, muddy, or heavily gritty cars should have the offending matter removed first.
Do I need to dry the car before using Total Paint Care?
The surface where Total Paint Care will be applied must be completely dry. Do not apply in the rain or where water will be sprayed onto the paint.
What if I need to re-spray a part of my car, will Total Paint Care cause panel shops problems?
Total Paint Care does not contain any silicones and therefore panel shops will have no problems when your car is treated.
I have some stains in my paint, will Total Paint Care remove them?
Depending on what the stain is, Total Paint Care may be able to remove it. Discolouration of paint where a chemical reaction has taken place such as fading will be impossible to treat with any product. Where the stain is the result of contaminants being stuck to the surface of the paint Total Paint Care may reduce or remove it. Prevention is better than cure so regular application of the product will ensure you do not encounter more instances.
What happens if I accidentally spray onto glass?
Total Paint Care can actually be used on glass, and it does an exceptional job - water will bead and run straight off windows treated with the product. Spray, wipe and buff as per usual. You may notice a slight smoky haze in certain light conditions - which may be undesirable.

Total Paint Care contains waxes, which reduce friction. Brakes use friction as the critical component for stopping. If you accidentally spray onto brake discs, ride the brakes for a short period of time to heat up the product and remove it. Drive carefully, leaving adequate braking distances until you notice the brakes behaving normally.

Why do I need to shake it?
Total Paint Care is comprised of nearly 20 different ingredients, some of which separate while standing. Shaking the bottle ensures that you get exactly the right amount of each component onto the paint to create the outstanding finish that is Total Paint Care.
Why can't I remove paint with Total Paint Care?
Because Total Paint Care does not contain anything abrasive, it cannot scratch through paint. There are no solvents contained in the solution to eat into paint. My paint has gone white and powdery. Will Total Paint Care fix this? (oxidization)
The particular symptom being described is most likely oxidation. Total Paint Care can remove oxidized paint because the paint is no longer bonded, leaving fresh paint with a new protective surface. Often more than one treatment is required to completely remove oxidation depending on the severity.
What is the difference between oxidation & fading?
Oxidation is corrosion of paint caused by chemical breakdown, usually due to poor maintenance of paint. Oxidation generally causes the paint to become 'detached' from itself and it becomes 'powdery'. Fading is a chemical reaction between the colour in the paint and UV rays, usually due to excessive exposure to sunlight. Fading in most cases will not cause paint to 'detach' from itself - the paint is essentially still the same except that its colour has deteriorated.
I've heard Carnauba wax is the best and most protective wax, what type of wax does Total Paint Care use?
Total Paint Care does in-fact use Carnauba wax in it's protective layer. Special additives are used to make the Carnauba wax easier to apply and remove than usual.
Can I apply Total Paint Care in the sun?
Yes but it is not recommended if the paint is hot or warm. Apply to a very small area at a time (about a 200x200mm section) and buff immediately. The result will not be as good as when the product is applied in a cool dry and shady place.
If my paint is hot, will Total Paint Care damage the paint?
No, but it is not recommended to use the product when paint is hot. Hot paint will cause the lubricants and suspension agents to evaporate, causing the waxes to dry over dirt. If this happens, wait for a cooler time in the day and re-apply the product in the same spot.
Is it possible for Total Paint Care to penetrate or damage my paint?
Total Paint Care does not contain anything abrasive or any petroleum products. This means the ingredients cannot physically penetrate the paint.
My car is dusty and dirty, I'm worried I'll scratch it if I use Total Paint Careshould I wash it with soap and water first?
If in doubt, wash the car first. Generally, dusty cars will not need to be washed down first. Extremely dirty, muddy, or heavily gritty cars should have the offending matter removed first.
